Bio
John Loesing

Another climber who set a personal record of 21,000 feet on Aconcagua, Loesing is the Project Director for the Prostate Cancer Climb on Mt. Kilimanjaro. He is a veteran print and major market broadcast journalist whose forthcoming book, “Mountain of Hope: The Story of the Prostate Cancer Climb,” tells the story of how the men’s movement began and the perils that the climbers and survivors faced during the difficult Argentina expedition.

“My father had prostate cancer and because I just turned fifty and might be a candidate for the disease myself, I feel deeply awed about what these dedicated men are trying to do,” said Loesing, a Los Angeles resident. His father passed away in 1998.

Like many elderly men, Loesing’s father died with prostate cancer, but not from it, proof that with proper care treatment, the disease can be kept in check, even sent into remission.

John Loesing is an avid surfer, hiker and runner.
