Gordon also has seen family members, friends and patients survive and live fruitful lives after being diagnosed with cancer. His heartstrings have been touched by the passion and spirit of men and women who have faced this adversity. “Climbing Kilimanjaro is a journey towards a summit, which is closer to the sun than anywhere else on earth, some would say closer to God,” said Gordon, who is a chiropractor specializing in sports medicine. “A journey that has many struggles and many obstacles is representative of the journey of a cancer patient. The process of being able to climb and raise money that will help provide opportunities for others with prostate cancer on their life journey, brings great joy to me.”
Proceeds of the Prostate Cancer Climb will go exclusively to funding education and research. Distribution of the Hap Weyman Memorial Prostate Cancer Project Fund will be determined by the Independent Educational Research Funding Committee (IERFC). |

Gordon’s life has been touched by cancer in so many ways. Both of his parents died of cancer, as did many other members of his family, including grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He has watched patients succumb to this devastating disease.
