PROSTATE CANCER CLIMB Bio
Doug and his family give thanks each day now that dad's cancer is in check. He beat all the odds by a mile and the doctors could not figure it out, Doug says with a smile. Although we all understand that it may come back, we also realize that we should be positive and continue to push forward and try to help others. Amazingly, doctors scoffed at the idea of Menellys
father taking a PSA (prostate specific antigen), the standard test for
prostate cancer, because they said at age forty-three he was too young
for the disease. Statistics now show that one out every five patients
is under the age of sixty.
Proceeds of the Prostate Cancer Climb will go exclusively to funding education and research. Distribution of the Hap Weyman Memorial Prostate Cancer Project Fund will be determined by the Independent Educational Research Funding Committee (IERFC). |
