I am also doing it as part of my year long quest to volunteer my way around the world. I have just finished volunteering in Africa and am training for the climb in Northern Pakistan. I am doing this climb for all of the younger male generation. I want to make people aware that even if they aren't in the risk group now, they will be one day. And they probably have dads, brothers, or grandpas that are now.
